Anthoanet Births Baby Aliah

This baby was a little “early” at 36 weeks 6 days but that didn’t stress this mom for a second. She was calm, cool, and collected the entire time. Her doula, Angela Lessa, kept her active to help her achieve her goal of a nondedicated birth. With a few laps around the labor and delivery floor, many bounces and squats on the exercise ball, a long hot shower, massages by her husband, encouragement by her midwife, this mama pushed out her sweet babygirl was out to greet her parents who couldn’t have been happier to meet her.

I was invited to attend Anthoanet’s birth by my senior doula when I needed to complete some supervised births for my certification. The highlight of this birth for me was watching mama rock the delivery - with no pain medication- DESPITE having Pitocin in her system! (Pitocin is known to intensify contractions A LOT! Most ppl end up with an epidural after a Pitocin induction)

I asked if I could document- just because I love it. When Anthoanet and her husband Isaiah saw this footage, they immediately wanted to purchase the footage because they were so in love with the memories. That decision led to 33k people viewing their story on youtube!! The amazing part about that is that other ppl got to feel their power & hopefully, became empowered themselves for their own births.

“I LOVED working with Aimee while she captured every moment of my daughters birth this past year.  She has such a warm & welcoming spirit about her, I honestly felt that we were friends for years! With that being said, I felt very comfortable having her around during my labor and the birth. And here’s why, she wasn’t all over the place trying to get the perfect shot, she wasn’t messing with the light or moving things around. I never felt the “camera” on me during such a private time and that’s what I loved about Aimee! When it ended I honestly thought she captured me at my worst during the labor and birth but I actually looked pretty good in all the shots/video haha! The shot when my baby came out was not like how you see a birth video for educational purpose where the lens in right there, it was an aerial shot and you couldn’t see any of my lady parts thanks to the lighting of the hospital lol. The finishing product came out AMAZING! I’m so happy Aimee was able to capture my birth story and that moment in life where my world changed. It’s something I will treasure forever and I’m forever grateful for Aimee for giving me this memory that will live on! Love her! Choose 13th & Madison to capture your birth story!” -Anthoanet A. 2018
